Like everything we purchase jewellery also needs to be cared for and looked after so that we can enjoy wearing them. Fashion or plated jewellery need a little more care and really should not be worn daily.Ā 

Some tips to keep your jewellery looking new longer.

ā–² Ā Makeup, lotions, perfumes, hairspray or water (if not dried properly) are very harmful to all fashion or fine jewellery.

The best way to avoid contact is to wear your jewellery last and take off first.

ā–² Remove your jewellery before exercising, swimming, washing dishes, showering and sleeping. It is important not to wear jewellery to bed, they can get caught and get damaged, also you might scratch yourself.

ā–² A good habit to get into is to wipe your jewellery with a soft cloth after wearing them, therefore wiping away any oils or lotions that might be left from your skin.

ā–² Do Not use harsh chemicals to clean your jewellery. Toothpaste might seem harmless but it's like taking sand paper and rubbing your jewellery, taking a layer off.

ā–² Storing your jewellery in separate bags also helps them from getting tangled, scratched and damaged. Also storing them away from light in a drawer will preserveĀ them.
